We Played F1 2020 in VR!
Due to quarantine, esports has become the only way to keep fans engaged and compete.
Despite the fact that the season has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, riders, like other athletes, want to continue to compete with other teams. Therefore, from today, some Formula 1 pilots will begin to take part in the virtual series of the Grand Prix.
To do this, they will be using the 2019 PC version of the F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix game. First, the pilots will compete on the Bahrain virtual circuit, which was to become the second stage of the current season. Although this heat will last 28 laps, half the usual time, as before, it will be preceded by a qualifying session to determine the starting positions. The virtual race will be streamed on the Formula 1 channels on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.
Competitions in this form will be held at least until May, but they will be purely entertainment in nature and will not affect the rating in any way. Demonstration races will also be held in between stages, in which fans will have the opportunity to compete with real pilots in cyberspace.
We also previously reported that due to quarantine Cadillac has opened a virtual car dealership.
