Nanox has developed a medical bed with new X-ray technology that significantly reduces the cost of scanning equipment.
According to the WHO, as of 2012, two-thirds of the world’s population did not have access to radiography. This is partly due to the high cost of the devices themselves, since the emitting element in traditional systems requires so much energy and heat that millions of dollars have to be spent just to ensure patient safety..
Nanox introduced a compact digital system that works more efficiently and can do without bulky stationary tubes. The only thing moving in it is the gantry holding the X-ray ring. This allows you to quickly scan various parts of the body.
According to the developers, thanks to the new technology, the manufacture of such a device is several times cheaper than traditional models. In addition, the company does not plan to force clinics and hospitals to buy equipment, but will offer the ability to use it together with AI-based analysis systems, charging a fee for scanning..
The project team has not yet announced when the new device will appear on the market, but in the near future it hopes install 15 thousand devices.
We also previously reported on development of a diagnostic device that identifies 13 types of cancer one drop of blood with 99% accuracy.
